Hardware Interfaces

AC Power

The AC power is supplied using a standard IEC 320 AC power cable.

On-Off Power Switch

The power switch is on the back side of the unit. Depending on the installed power supply, an additional power supply power switch can be present next to the IEC AC cable connector.

Status LEDs

Under normal operation:

  1. LED 1 indicates that the internal power supply is OK.
  2. LED 2 indicates that the boot loader has initialized.
  3. LED 3 indicates that the operating system has initialized.
  4. LED 4 is a heartbeat LED flashing at system load average rate.

If the system is in firmware recovery mode, LED 4 will rapidly flash with 5Hz until the system returns to normal operation mode.

Ethernet Ports

  • The main system configuration ethernet port e0. This ethernet port is used for system configuration (RESTAPI) in addition to the CAN traffic forwarding engine.
  • The multibox ethernet port e1. This port is used to connect multiple AutobusGW systems to extend virtual CAN busses across several physical AutobusGW devices.

CAN/CANFD Ports

The CAN/CANFD ports feature the following:

  • Integrated CAN/CANFD transceivers with AEC-Q100 certification.
  • Data rates up to 8 Mbps.
  • The ports support a wide operating range with +/- 58V bus fault protection and +/- 12V common mode voltage.
  • 3.75kV RMS galvanic isolation. All CAN grounds are isolated from each other and from system ground.
  • Electronically switchable 120-Ohm bus termination resistors with true analog switches.
  • ESD Protection diodes.

SENT Ports

  • Vsent connects to the Vbat of the SENT bus.
  • The SENT line connects to the SENT bus.
  • 3.75kV RMS galvanic isolation. All SENT grounds are isolated from each other and from system ground.
  • FPGA-implemented SENT protocol ensuring exact timing.
  • ESD Protection diodes.

USB Ports

  • The USB ports U0, U1, U2, and U3 are USB2 and USB3 capable. With a firmware update it shall be possible to redirect connected USB devices over TCP.

IO Module connectors (green Phoenix connectors):

These connectors connect internally to the IO modules, which implement a specific BUS standard each. The C24S6 variant presents 24 CAN ports and 6 SENT ports.

SFP Cages

The SFP cages on the front panel connect directly to the onbaord FPGA and are reserved for future use.

Recovery Button

The recovery button on the backside of the unit is required in the case it is not possible to establish API communication due either to an unknown IP address or to a forgotten password. Holding this button pressed for 5 seconds after power cycling this board will instruct the boot loader to boot into the system recovery firmware.
